The database server (AWS RDS) in the shared environment for the Europe region has encountered a hardware issue on 13th of May 2018, around 12:04 UTC. Due to this issue, the database server management system automatically triggered a failover to the standby secondary server as part of our standard self-healing routine (RDS Multi-AZ failover). The switch completed correctly, resulting in 2 minute 37 seconds of downtime, after which the system fully recovered and started functioning as expected. We will continue to closely monitor this instance and take any necessary steps to ensure it is working as expected and to keep downtime to a minimum.
